Standard Sample Preparation and Examination Service
Paleo-Data is the only paleo lab in the Gulf Coast with integrated sample preparation and examination services, optimizing efficiency and quality monitoring. Most biostratigraphic consultants outsource their sample preparation work prior to microscope examination. At PDI, foram and nannofossil samples are examined concurrently in-house for the most effective communication and integration possible. Paleontologists are on-call for 24-hour assistance.
Examination includes data capture in either enhanced relative abundance, semi-quantitative, or customized client-defined quantitative methods.

Priority Service
Paleo-Data provides an expedient "Priority Service" in situations where the biostratigaphic information is vital, but not a basis for operational drilling decisions. A sample technician is placed on location to prepare nannofossil/foram samples for transport to shore by all available means. Prepared samples are picked up by PDI and delivered 24/7 directly to the microscope for examination and reporting. Information is provided less than 24 hours behind bit depth.
Wellsite Service
With a staff of nine paleontologists and lab personnel, Paleo-Data can also meet critical realtime paleo needs of our clients. Teams of sample technicians and nannofossil/foram specialists are available to travel onsite where immediate decisions need to be made based on biostratigraphic evaluations. These include subsalt stratigraphic/structural interpretations and correlations to help identify pressured section, casing, fault, and TD points.
Sample Delivery Service
Paleo-Data offers sample pick-up service for efficient, seamless operations for our clients. No more worries over lost samples, deliveries to wrong locations, or waiting on hotshot drivers. Rig personnel or a shore dispatcher can call our lab managers, Shaka Garel or Rick Frascona at (504) 210-7353, in advance to request a sample pickup at wellsite or shorebase.
